Mine makes a wave whether I like it or not!

1940s men — some of them, at least, loved this sleek style. It’s one of the most popular for the time period, categorized by volume on the top and a short side and back. Works for them, don’t you think? And I think this volume evolved into the crazy greaser looks of the next decade! Now, if you’re interested in recreating these looks in the modern day, look no further. These drop dead gorgeous styles can be yours with a comb, some pomade, and some patience.

For these, if you don’t want to slick your hair all back, opt for a side part. They did not want a middle part, not ever. The slick back and the side part were popular for their clean, masculine appeal. And back then, middle parts were seen as girly! Wet hair, then comb hair oil or pomade through it, parting as you wish. And careful now, your hair might not want to obey you at first!

Brush back but make sure you are parting it as you brush. God knows I have had my hair mess up in the back because I was not paying enough attention! Smart men know the hairstyle has to last the whole day. And if you’re living someplace hot, be careful, it might come apart with sweat! When going out, make sure you bring a brush with you — silly but that’s what I like to do. When I’m there at the beach posing for a photo I need to make sure it’s okay!

I s'pose the fellas can't argue with the way it is now. More to grab, ain't it?
