Today, half of society enjoys a republic exploiting natural trees. Redevelopment extracts all life, then replaces every environment’s specific deciduous organisms.
Yet, only unappreciated heartwoods earn a right to homelands, environmental management, & biodiversity. Every environmentalist person irritates necessary g…

i used to really like looking around abandoned places. and listening to the radio. i couldn’t afford too many professional cassettes so i’d rip my own stuff off of the alt rock stations at night. have you ever counted how many radio towers there are in the night sky?
one night i found a station saying things i didn’t really recognize. numbers, letters. an accent like from those old movies on my aunt’s TV. and then it said my whole birthday. in order. three times. have you ever counted the radio towers?
i thought maybe it was someone reaching out to me from beyond. so i wandered around with a radio for a bit tuned to it, seeing where it got stronger. found an abandoned radio station an hour or so from my house. do you know how many radio towers there are in your city?
i sat there for a long time. it was quiet. dark. dusty. the station gave me my address. my age. and it started using alphanumeric code. it said. hello. how many little red lights are out there?
it said. it was my friend. i didn’t have many friends. it said. i could come to where it was. i only had to make some music. make some noise. record everything about myself down to the tiniest detail. How bright is the night sky where you are? how would it look to a creature that could see radio waves?
by the time i stopped speaking i wasn’t in the radio station anymore. i wasn’t anywhere anymore. and that’s when i met william. 40s looking guy in a spiffy suit. his buttery voice on the radio waves. he said he was my friend. which was a little disappointing. Do you know when a radio station closes down? Do you know when a new one opens?
Have you ever counted the radio towers in the night sky?
Would you notice it if there was one more?
