In March 2025, a player sent a letter to Thomas.

In French:
Dear Thomas,
I hope you are doing well, at least as well as you can be. Based on the context of your last letter, it seems like you’re a bit closer to “shuffling off this mortal coil” than having achieved your objective of being on the faulty of the Sorbonne.
Know that your field of study has not been entirely forgotten. In fact, I don’t know if you are able to read the books in this library (you certainly left several things?) but the rather important works of Mallarmé were rediscovered and published after your disappearance.
If you are able and have not already looked at “Le Livre” and the recent publications of A Throw of the Dice, you ought to. If you can read music, “Chansent Vas de Mallarmé” by Milhaud, was written after your departure/death and might be to your taste. It’s not exactly to my taste, I prefer moreso the debut by Ravel that you certainly already know.
Although my field of study differs from yours, I would be delighted to get to know your work.
If you’re curious, Princeton has changed a lot since your departure. The campus has maybe two times more buildings since you were here and if you want I can send you photos. In fact, let me know if you want me to include images of the world.
The French department has fused with the Italian, and is in all honesty rather small and on hard times. Since you left, interest for the sciences has exploded (some really important developments have happened in all branches of natural science and induced the development of new branches). Although unfortunately it seems to me that Princeton is in the middle of becoming a trade school for jobs that require a very high technical competence. Few people appreciate the beauty of poetry.
I have included a sheet of paper in this envelope in the case that you have not seen signs of life for a certain time. Can you tell me how you arrived in the Abime in the first place? I am very curious to hear your last memories of Princeton and what happened to get you into the Abime. Furthermore, what do you think of that fact that Will went in there with you? What did you guys talk about?
If there is something that can help you, I would love to hear it.
Best wishes,
Lucas
